Default More than 150 pounds to lose... need help!

Today, I made the decision - I am going to finally lose this weight. I am inspired by the people here and determined to get to my goal.

My motivation is my health and my comfort. I notice that I have problems with my skin (rash in the folds), pain in my knee, I'm just not comfortable any more. I also just had my check-up at the doctor's office and my blood sugar was at 100. They are now testing my A1C level and I'm expecting a call today. Even if I am NOT diagnosed with diabetes, I am at the point now where I'm motivated and ready.... and I'd love your help and support. I have a lot of weight to lose, but I'm taking the first step.

Welcome, tryingmybest!! You are going to love it here, so many inspirational people here to help you along your weightloss mission!

I hope you get good test results!!

The best thing I did when I was starting out was to set mini-goals. Starting at 328 (I was higher but not sure how high so I entered the weight from my first day losing weight), I wanted to lose 25lbs. That took me to 303, so I made a mini-mini-goal to get to 299 so I'd be in the 200s. Then to get to 275, etc. This helped me focus on smaller numbers rather than the big number. Now I take it 5-10lbs at a time as it's still overwhelming trying to make progress, even with all I have lost.

The 300lb forum threads are wonderfully supportive, I still visit them as I will never forget where I started no matter how much I lose. I'll always be "one of the 300 girls".

I look forward to your posts, find a few threads and get comfy. It's going to be an amazing experience for you! 3FC changed my life and I hope you have the same love for this place!

You can do this! 3FC is a great place to get support! And you will be feeling way better a long time before reaching your goal. My skin stopped itching at about 10lbs down. Do the mini-goals. And just repeat.

It's all about the journey.

to you ... I too need to lose 150+ lbs and just has been mentioned before... make it in smaller "mini-goal" chunks... It makes it a less task and plus you get to reward yourself when you have met those goals... (hmm shopping or a spa day etc) Things that will make you feel even better about yourself.

This is a truly wonderful place to be a part of. You will feel encouraged and people will help with your queries. So glad you joined and so glad you are on your way to being a healthier you!!!

Congrats on making such a big commitment, and welcome! I, too, have quite a bit of weight to lose. (120, or perhaps even more.) Best of luck to you, and I hope you find the support and answers you're looking for here!
