Hey Everyone!!
Hi everyone!
So glad to have found this community! I'm 21 and I have always been chunky, but over the past few years I really packed on the pounds until I reached about 220 over Christmas 2011. In early 2012, I began working out and transitioning to healthier foods, but I never cut out any foods or deprived myself in any way. As I incorporated more exercise, my food choices became healthier too. Then, I began planning my meals in advance and really cutting back on the sugar and breads. I became aware of how the body needs certain nutrients and made an effort to incorporate those foods into my diet. Another key for me is that I have found a plan that works for me. I pay attention to carbs, though I don't limit them. I try to get more protein and veggies, but I also allow myself one small piece of chocolate a day. People ask me all the time what diet I'm on or if I'm dieting and my honest answer is always no. I'm not dieting and I think that has made a major difference in my success. This, for me, isn't a diet, but an entire lifestyle change. I'm living healthy and loving it (most of the time ;) ). :trampo: Anyway, I don't think I'm some kind of fitness or food expert or anything like that and I certainly have my own emotional issues that led me to the weight I was at, but if there is anyway I can help anyone on here I look forward to it! I love to share my experience and I have really appreciated the support I've already received from some members. If anyone has any questions or is just feeling lonely in their weight loss struggles, feel free to ask me or lean on me for support! :D :easter2: |

As you said, we all have emotional things that take us to the unhealthy place we end up, it is up to us to realize it and make the necessary changes to be healthy.
