New beginnings...

Hey everyone!
I am new to this site and need some guidance ! Im 224 lb 25 years old and looking to lose about 80 pounds. I see a lot of you have been getting amazing results. I was wondering what kind of plans you all are following. I don't know where to start with my diet and need all the help and support I could get.

:welcome3: I don't "diet" but just east mostly organic, whole fresh foods with a lot of fresh fruit and veggies, very little meat, avoid processed foods, fake sugar, chemicals, etc. I also work out in the pool a lot. Works for me!

Welcome and congrats on starting. I decided to just start eating healthy and eliminate what I knew I shouldn't be eating. I have increased my water to 64 oz every day, steamed vegetables every night, very little rice/pasta/potatoes, no sweets, no fried foods, low sugar and smarter dinner choices. Exercising 4 days a week and better sleep. I've also added Shake (ology) once a day because it is packed with vegetables and vitamins.

I am changing my lifestyle, not dieting. I eat out with my family on special occasions and the weight is coming off a little at a time. It didn't come on quickly, so I'm learning to be patient.

Congrats! I've started watching my calorie intake, and just learning more about nutrition in general! You'll love it here!

Welcome! you already got great advice about:

#1- don't diet, find lifestyle changes that you can live with and make them permanent.

#2- drink at least 64 ounces of water each day. My doc says to drink 1/2 my weight in water each day but not over 100 oz or below 64 oz a day.

These two things help me lose weight and keep it off. When I vary from them, I gain weight. I have been alternating between Metabolic Research Center and Atkins and have lost 20 lbs in 6 weeks.
