Hello everyone

Hi there everyone,

I am Nicola and I'm here because I need to lose weight. I have tried most of the diets out there and have failed every time gaining back a little bit with each attempt.

It's time to change things and stop pouring money into the diet industry so I have decided to try and eat as clean as possible, increase protien and go to the gym regularly. I have 75 lbs to lose and I am facing knee replacement surgery sometime this year, I would like to lose weight and build muscle and possibly avoid surgery.

Reading some of the success stories on this website is truly inspirational and I hope I can become one of them.

Cheers

Nikki

Hi Nicki! Glad you found us here. If you visit often and participate, you will receive the information, motivation and encouragement to succeed in losing those stubborn 75 lbs. I have learned through many years of "dieting" that the only way to lose weight and keep it off is to eat sensibly and exercise. I am wondering if you have heard of Sittercise? It is a great DVD of chair exercises that you should be able to do with your knee problems. I suffered a severe back injury in 2008 and that is the only exercise I was able to do for years. We moved to a town that has a therapy pool that is covered in the winter, maintained at 90 degrees and open year-round so I now do forty-five to 60 minutes of water aerobics 3 times per week. I found that any exercise is better than none.

Blessings,

Thanks ladies for the welcome. I am starting HIIT training and I lift weights pretty regularly, I'm not noticing the scale move but I think clothes are starting to fit better. I can do my HIIT intervals both on a stationary bike (boring), or swimming laps. I would prefer to ride outside but the ice that's still everywhere freaks me out, if I fall surgery may come sooner.....actually a mountain bike accident was a big contributor to the knee problem.

I do need to just eat clean, every so called diet I have been on gives me anxiety because I always seem to rebel against the rules and turn into an eatasaurus.

Deep water workout is awesome too fire girl, I love it but don't seem to go as often as I should...it's a hard workout with low impact.

:wel3fc: I am limited in exercise too and use the pool... I highly recommend an underwater iPod Shuffle! It has made my workouts SO much more fun!!
