My story

Hello I am new to this forum and I want to introduce myself. I am a 22 year old African American female who has been struggling with obesity since childhood. I have always been the biggest person among my peers and I am sick of it. Which diet should I go on to have long term success? I am 350 pounds and 5'9.

I think you would benefit from spending some time doing your own research and looking around the forums. Everyone is different and different things will work for all of us. Generally though, the healthy to begin to shed the lbs is quality and quanitity control of food as well as some form of regular exercise. But maybe you start by only doing work and way your way to doing both. Maybe you need to just start going hard with nutrition and exercise because that's how you are. Only you know what is best for you, but in the end it's something that you will have to maintain, so approach it in a way where you can slowly change your habits and live your life in a more healthy and happy way. I think everyone here is very willing to chat about ideas or possibilities once you know more about what ways will make the most sense for you! Until then... happy reading and researching! Good luck, I'm excited for you! :)

Hi, Lana: I don't know which plan would be best for you. I just wanted to say "hi" and "good luck." I also wanted to compliment you for getting serious about your weight loss at age 22. I am 56 and I know my weight loss journey is going to be a bit slower and more of a struggle at this age. We can both do it, though. Let's stay strong!

:welcome2: to you!

Good for you to start working on the being the healthiest person you can be :) That is so awesome :) I hope (thru reading these threads) that you find an eating plan that works for you! There are so many. But you can always start by eating fewer calories and eating healthier food. That is always a great way to start. and 1 trick (not really  ) drink plain ole WATER. It really does work!

I wish you a happy and not too bumpy of a journey and hope to see you around the threads!
