happy to be here!
Hello. my name is destyni. I am a 27 year old student, girlfriend, and im a mother to a 4 month old boy.
ive always had weight issues. ive starved myself, ive taken laxatives, i even tried to make myself puke but i couldnt do it. The smallest ive ever been in my adult life is 160 lbs and that was from unhealthy methods mentioned above. I am currently 255.8 lbs. I gained 20 lbs during pregnancy and another 15 after i gave birth. Im uncomfortable, i feel unpretty, i got lazy, didnt even want to clean my house. monday March 4th 2013, i changed that. i started eating better and working out. and i drink a gallon of water a day. I am a work in progress. even just 2 days after starting i feel more energetic and seeing all these before and after photos has me more motivated than ever! Cant wait til im able to post mine. my first goal is 30 lbs in 30 days! wish me luck. :) |

:welcome2: to you!
Oh gosh.. I am so glad that you are getting healthy by not doing anything extreme. You and your body are the most important things. You can do it. It might not be as fast as you want or it might be faster. Your body will lose as it does. Believe in yourself and always forge ahead! Lots of encouragement around these parts. Come join a thread or two! |
thank you ladies! :)

:welcome:!!!
While your goals are ambitious, I think 30lbs in 30 days is a bit much. 30lbs in 60 days, maybe 45 days if you're lucky. I just don't want you to get discouraged if you don't make 30lbs in a month then give up altogether. Slow and steady is best (general "rule" of safe weight loss is 1% to 1.5% of your weight weekly) because it is likely you will keep it off. Think about it, the faster you lose, the more chance you can gain it fast while you lose slowly means you slowly gain it back (but only if you give up.) You didn't gain all that weight in a month so it stands to reason that it will take time to get it off. Also, day to day fluctuations in weight are totally NORMAL (I can go up to 5lbs in a day from water and food, etc!) So my advice from my experience is to weigh yourself once a week rather than daily unless you feel like you can handle it and not let it affect you. I truly do wish you the best of luck! :) |
thank you amandie, i guess i do need to make my goal a little more realistic. i forgot this time around im doing it the right way. 30 lbs in 30 days is when i was starving myself, but cant do that, dont want to do that, plus im breastfeeding!so maybe 30 in 45.. hopefully the calories i burn just by making milk helps!
