New guy here.
 

Hello.

I am a 32 year old male living in silicon valley.

My cousin told me today that she has all of the following ailments:

Congestive heart failure
Diabetes
High blood pressure
Back pain
Skin discoloration caused by thigh, arm and fold friction (of course she did not use that language)


I was trying to figure out how I could help her lose weight and I figured out that if I could help her, I might be able to help more than one person and I have been doing a large amount of research on obesity as a result of this.

I am an engineer by profession and holding true to my modalities of thinking
I am researching and systematizing the information and practices that I find in the hope of creating something that others that struggle with weight and
body image issues can find useful.

I have joined because I am interested in learning more about weight reducing bariatric surgeries and the experiences that others have had with them.

That is wonderful that you want to help your cousin. But I have to ask, has she seen a doctor? Maybe a nutrionist? I only ask that as she has medical issues and probably takes medication and should find out what she is allowed to eat in conjunction with the medication... as to the surgery, that I do not have any information on. You might want to go into that thread and contact people who have had that done.
