Finally getting on track

Hi all!

I am just joining 3FC but I have been reading posts for about 2 weeks and decided it was time to join in:) I am 41 and a relative newbie to being a SAHM. Prior to this last 1.5 yrs as a SAHM I was a special Ed teacher for 16 yrs. I have 5 kids from ages 2-14, 3 boys & 2 girls. Since staying at home, I've gained at least 25 lbs!! Don't know exactly because I didn't even own a scale til I started this weight loss journey a month ago. I joined WW with my neighbor friend. I've lost 7.4 lbs as of today. I'm in for the long haul this time and really hoping to be at my first goal by end of the year. I love the support that I see on this forum & want to be a part of that too!!

I would love a weight loss buddy...maybe someone who has about 70 lbs or so to their goal?? Let me know if you need/want a buddy too!!

Well, here's to another day of working towards a healthy life:))

Jen

Welcome! I joined two days ago and I think you and I have both found a home of supporters here to help us reach our goals. I lost 86 lbs back in 2006 when I found out I had diabetes. It wasn't easy, but I was on another forum and those great gals kept me on track. I would also like to add that if it is difficult for you to get started on an exercise program, consider water exercise if your area has a pool for that. Our county put in a therapy pool and cover and heat the pool deck air in the winter. The pool water is a constant 90 degrees year round. I used to do pool aerobics. I just started back and I walk/jog for 25-30 minutes and do 15 minutes of stretching, arm exercises and water crunchies. I have a serious back injury so water exercise is the only exercise I can do.

I look forward to following your progress. I don't have that much weight to lose, but I would love to be one of your weight loss buddys. I am helping my friend out with support as well. She was at 308 lbs on Feb 2nd and is down to 288 now. I desperately need a buddy to get my last 23 lbs off and for maintenance because I lose the weight but can't seem to keep it off.

Blessings to you, firegirl

chucktownchik and firegirl441::hug:Welcome to you both, I've been on this site for a month and am still looking for a place to fit in. I have been overweight my whole life. My one big problem is my self-confidence-I don't have much. I feel like I don't fit in...I've been 155 -and still felt fat and lonely... Then I went through some stuff and gained weight-was 250 in 2001. I was 33yrs old and overweight and unhappy, so lost weight. I was 155 in 2003. My family has been supportive and so has my husband. But the loneliness has crept back into my life. I would like to be a buddy if that's okay. I have gained back 45 lbs. My current goal is 175. I live on a cattle farm and so far we have 12 new calves. I am using portion control, TOPS(take off Pounds sensibly) weightloss group, farm chores and walking.
I feel like I just need someone other than family to talk to.:)
