Hello Everyone
Hello everyone, my name it Kitty, and I am 28 years old. Like everyone here I have also struggled with being overweight, but the only problem with my scenario is that, I do not have a support system in place anymore. I was on a diet before and lost about 40 pounds but over the span of year and half I have gained it back, especially after my car accident (which was very recent). I will like to start again, fresh, and minus the cost for any kind of meds or needles.....The Healthy way....... Right now I stand at 225 lbs and I will like to reach my goal by my birthday (which is in July) and keep it off for lifetime. My goal weight is 145lbs, so that 80 lbs to go. Right now all I can do is eat healthy because my physiotherapist has asked for no GYM....... Ladies please help me by supporting me and guiding me with some really helpful tips....

Hey Kitty. Welcome to 3FC! I joined quite recently as well and we're around the same age. The best tips I can give you are not to focus so much on a date but just making progress every day. When I think about the amount I have to lose, I get a bit daunted, but when I see a small loss on the scale every day or when I have a really great day with my food plan and exercise, it really gives me a boost and the motivation I need to keep going.
Also, don't worry so much about the exercise. The diet is really 90% of the equation. But I would suggest that you try to do something low impact everyday like talking a walk. It will burn some calories but it also is a good stress reliever which you especially need when you are losing weight. Hope that helps! |
Hi and welcome! All my advice amounts to is... if you're not hungry, don't eat, if you're hungry, eat but make it something healthy about 80-90% of the time, have less healthy stuff now and again if you really want it, and without guilt, and I second what Lotus7 says about getting out for walks, it really has helped me and it's great for stress, plus I feel much better afterwards. Plus if you can find some kind of exercise you love just for the sake of doing it, that's great! Anything counts if you're not sitting or lying down! :)
If you want something more structured, there are forums for every kind of plan :) Ps: post here as often as you can! If you find the support system helps, you'll definitely find it here :) As I've got to kinda know a few people I look forward to posting, and I get great advice and encouragement :) Hope to see you around the forum more, and that things start looking up for you after the accident :) |
Hi Kitty! Welcome to 3FC :D

Thank you for all the love and support... I am into Day 3 and boy, anything sweet in my house is very tempting. I belong to an Indian household and it is a major struggle..... Every weekend someone comes over and they bring Indian sweets....... CRAVINGS are kicking in high gear......But I am still trying to be strong, cheated only once with one spoon of custard and felt guilty to myself. Reading all these messages helps me to put that spoon down and say NO to sweet.....
