New Here- Looking to Motivate Others
Hi, everyone. My name is Emilee and I am new here to these forums and wanted to share my story.
For many years, I struggled with my weight and obesity. I played many sports as a kid to stay active, but I was always chunkier than the rest. It wasn't until high school, my senior year, I ballooned up- and continued on from there. Years later, I met my husband and put on another 60 lbs. I was at 270 lbs. We talked about starting a family, and I knew I had to make changes. So, I worked hard, cut back on food, ate better all around, and began running and exercising. A couple of years later (two months ago), the Today Show contacted me and wanted to fly me to New York to share my story on how I lost 130 lbs. So, I did. Though I reached my "goal", I still want to lose another 10-20 lbs- and another 6 or so have crept on since the show. Since I reached my goal, I've been finding myself in bad habits every now and then, so I'm fighting to keep going and not gain the weight back- which is something I worry about (my struggle is a food addiction). Anyway, I started a weight loss blog a couple of years back that document my history- ups and downs, hoping it can inspire others to lose. This led prompts from others for me to start a Facebook page for motivation and tips- not only to others, but also myself to stay on track. My goal is to keep fighting for my health as I struggle with autoimmune disease and to inspire others who are also struggling. I'm hoping I can also continue to receive support here on these forums to help keep myself in check. Thank you! |
