Postpartum pregnancy help

Hello!

I am a new mom and am finding it a bit disheartening that I gained so much weight during my pregnancy going from 170 to 250 lbs. After the birth I went down to 233 and have only managed to take off an additional 8 lbs since my son was born in late June, the loss only through exercising and eating healthy foods. Even though I breastfed, the scale never budged and as a highly active person before my pregnancy I feel held back by the excess weight. I know eventually the weight will come off, however, I am a maid of honor in my BFF's wedding in 5 months and I would really like to slim down a bit before then. It would be nice to hear a similar story or two from someone in a similar situation that met their goals as it is always nice to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks!:)

Well, I don't have a similar story but I have heard that it takes a year for your body to bounce back from pregnancy. Remember, this was a big deal for your body and it might still be trying to get a handle on so many different things that are still happening to it.

If you are doing the right things then the weight will come off, maybe not as quickly as you'd like (ok, it's never as quickly as we'd like) but with perseverance you can get back to 170.

If you have time, maybe you can start a food journal to track exactly how many calories your are eating in a day. I have found, on more than one occasion that I wasn't eating enough so I threw my body into starvation mode and actually gained weight.

You can do it. :-)

I breastfed for 14 months, and did nothing but gain! lol I gained through the pregnancy between quitting smoking and the stress with my son (ASD & Aspergers) it was all too much. I need the weight off.. I am tired of feeling like crap!

Good luck with your weight loss! xx
