Returning member...

Hi all,

I was a member five years ago. I successfully lost 40 lbs and then a series of life explosions happened. I ended up gaining back all the weight due to stress eating and lack of exercise. Trying not to beat myself up, just hoping to learn from the experience.

In October of last year, I visited my gyn who suggested I go on the Center for Medical Weight Loss plan. I lost 31 lbs. between Oct 8 - Dec 8. I then traveled to India for the holidays and didn't lose or gain lbs. (odd, as I am quite sure I ate 30 lbs. of paneer). Anyhoo, my New Year's resolution was to keep up with the eating plan and to begin working out with a trainer 3 x's a week. I've been following the eating plan, getting my butt kicked by the trainer, and doing 30 minutes of cardio 6x's a week. I'll be d*mned if I haven't hit a plateau. No weight has come off in 19 days.

I have loose skin and 30 lbs more to lose to meet my goal weight. While I understand that muscle weighs more than fat, I'm getting a bit discouraged that the scale hasn't budged. Nothing to blame it on, not my period, high levels of sodium, lack of water...It just is what it is. Boo.

Looking forward to reading your stories and successes. This was such a helpful site when I lost weight in 2008.

Thanks for reading my post!

:welcome3: Congrats on wanting to get back in the healthy way of living! Don't be discouraged by plateaus... they can be a learning experience. Try different foods (cut one or two out at a time) and see if leaving some out and replacing with others will help. Sometimes your body just gets "used" to the "same old thing" and that's when plateaus happen!

GOOD LUCK ON YOUR JOURNEY!!!

Welcome back! I can certainly empathize on the plateaus.. I've been hitting the bad ones too. But we just have to hang in there!! I know mine is also from the butt busting workouts, but they are important to keep up.

Welcome back, and congrats on the weight loss!! I'm back to kick a plateau, too. Hope we're both successful!

I LOVE the tickers!! Can't wait until I can get one and start it!! 20 days is SUCH a long time to wait... but I totally understand the reasoning!! Until that day comes, I'll live vicariously through everyone else!!
