Hello

Hello everyone. My name is Ally and this is my first time joining a weight-loss community. I've come to the conclusion that I don't have the willpower to do this all by myself, so I thought some support might be useful.

I'm almost 21 years old and I weigh 190 pounds. I am only 5'4", so I would like to lose some weight in order to look and feel better. My family has a history of weight-related health conditions that I would like to avoid now.

I have been trying to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into my diet, as well as whole grains. I have cut out soda and zero-calorie drinks. I drink lightly sweetened tea, water, and reduced sodium V8. I got my first gym membership yesterday at LA Fitness. I plan on alternating my cardio on the treadmills and elliptical with strength training on some of the weight machines.

I would simply like to become healthier and get in shape. I've been fighting with my weight since a young age.

Hi Psychic! Are you really a psychic?????

I see you live in Bethel Park - I'm about 2 hourse North of Philly ...

I'm 5' 4" also and my first goal was also 150. Of course I'm more than twice your age :D !

Stay the course, sounds like you have a very realistic plan in place. Careful on too many whole grains as they are equivalent to sugars in many ways. Your exercise will burn those directly before burning your fat ..

Keep us posted and the best of luck!!

Well, I wouldn't claim to be psychic, but I do study energy work and I am very intuitive.

I think a weight of 150 is reasonable for someone of my height and build.

And thank you for the advice. I am trying to cut out bleached flour and things that have no nutritional value. I know anything with carbs becomes sugar, so I will definitely watch that. I'm not really a grain person anyways, so it shouldn't be too much of problem.

Welcome! I am new here too, having finally restarted my weight loss journey. Your plan sounds great. It's amazing what a difference it makes in just cutting out sodas.

I too am interested in energy work, by the way. Good luck on your weight loss!
