Newbie here

Hey everyone, i'm brand new to this site...I just randomly found it on google and thought i'd give it a shot. I finally bought new batteries for my scale I have here at home & I weighed myself this evening, I'm so disappointed.......272 lbs. Just last month (Nov) I was at 263. My eating has become out of control and I really need to make some changes right now.
I'm about to be 25 years old, I live in California where i'm a full time student and work part time. I'm a mom - I have a two year old daughter and she's the love of my life. I started packing on my weight during my pregnancy and now two years later i'm heavier than I have ever been. I've had issues with hypertension and migraines and I need to lose this weight so I can feel healthier and happier, for myself and for my daughter. She deserves to have a healthy mom and I don't want her to ever struggle or have these issues with obesity.

Welcome! I'm glad you are giving this site a shot, it's definitely the most helpful thing I have found for my weight loss. I hope you have success as well!

Congrats on your little girl. 2 is my favorite age. My great nephew will be 2 next month. I love him to death. Can't wait to have one of my own.

Hello and :wel3fc:

It is always a bit of a "rude awakening" when we first face the fact of how much we weigh! But that can be our great starting point on our journey.

Once you have been here 20 days and have 20 posts, you will be able to get yourself a ticker at the bottom of your posts that show your progress. Best to have mini goals, too, as the big numbers can be overwhelming.

There is lots of support and encouragement here so I hope you stick around! I wish you the best. A lot of us are doing this, and you can too!! :cheer:

Thank you everyone! I'm excited to be able to make myself a ticker to track my progress. Misti -I will take your advice on the mini goals. I do have quite a bit of weight to lose, so I'm going to look at it in 10 pound increments until i get to my final goal weight :) Hope to see you all around the forums. Happy new year!
