3 Fat Chicks on a Diet Weight Loss Community

Obviously I'm new here, though I've been lurking for a long time now! I'm 25 and living in Saint Louis, Missouri with my wonderful husband and adorable dog. I've been working as a childbirth doula since 2008, but I've gone on an indefinite hiatus to figure out if/when/how I want to continue with birth work and I'm nannying for a local family in the mean time, which is a unique joy all its own!

I've needed to lose weight for a long time now after gaining a ton of it back in 2006 following a car accident. I was obese in middle/high school, but had lost over 100+ after dropping out of high school, starting up at community college, and dealing with my depression (through counseling and exercise). I've made numerous attempts at losing weight over the past 6+ years, and managed to get down to 210 for my 2007 wedding, but I seriously struggled to keep on board while dealing with life's difficulties - namely our 5 year battle with infertility and the often severe depression that goes along with that. Right now I'm sitting at 272 pounds, which is just 8 pounds shy of my highest weight EVER. We've decided to end infertility treatments and research adoption, and I'm SO relieved to be letting go and exploring new paths, and finally feel free and open enough to dedicate myself to losing weight and getting fit again. I'm really looking forward to seeing what 2013 brings us!
