Hi from India
Hi Everyone :)
I am from India. I found this forum while looking for diet help. I browsed around and find it a very helpful community, exactly what I am looking for... support, accountability and people who cheer each other on! I am happy to be posting here :) I am 5'4" and weigh about 165 lbs (75 kg). My aim is to go down to 125 lbs (57 kg). I plan to take it step by step with the Beck Diet solution and Volumetrics. I am yet to finish both books, but I think I have read enough to get started with a program. For exercise, I am looking at PACE and walking to help me. Though I don't usually discuss too many personal matters, I feel there is a lot of warmth shared in this forum, so I would like to mention that my weight woes are a result of a generally unhappy childhood. I eat--actually overeat--whenever I am affected by anxiety, which is almost always. I am 30 yrs now and would definitely like to overcome this way of living. Thanks for having read so far! I look forward to learning from the experience of everyone here :) |
Welcome, AnnaK! You'll definitely find the support you need here! This place has been a safe haven and the perfect outlet for me to discuss my weight issues. I find it's so much easier to share here than to share with folks I know face to face. My weight issues are a real personal problem that I'm not too eager to talk about, let alone acknowledge, to most people. Seeing as to how you don't have much to lose, you might wanna check out the Featherweights section of the forums. Lots of girls in your weight bracket there who can offer some great motivation, advice, or a shoulder to lean on. Good luck and I look forward to reading up on your successes!! :cb:

Hi Anna!
I eat out of anxiety too. Lately I have been replacing that with candles, incense and decaf coffee. What I did was "load" the incense by burning it when I was relaxed. Now, when I burn it when I am stressed it seems to trigger a more relaxed feeling! I think smells can be very powerful. Welcome! |
Welcome and good luck on your journey!

@Lakilaulea:Yes, I too felt comfortable for the same reason--folks who get us! Thanks for letting me know about the Featherweights forum. I am headed to that now. And, I hope to post a success story soon :carrot: @Fluffypuppy: Thanks for candle idea! I had never thought of that. It sounds pretty interesting and I will try it very soon. @Mozzy: Thank you! So glad to get started. @Misti in Seattle: Thank you! |
