Hello!
My name is Felicia and I have been struggling with weight most of my life. I decided after my twin sister passed away from a sedentary pulmonary embolism to change my lifestyle.
The largest I have been is 320 pounds. Currently, I am 278 pounds. I purchased a treadmill a while back and at first, the 300 pound weight limit allowed me to rationalize that I was too fat to exercise on it. Now that I am below the threshold, I find that I STILL feel anxious about using it. I came about this forum to find people who have decided to make a change but need good common sense to stay motivated. The primary reason I feel anxious to use the treadmill? I live in an old Victorian farmhouse built in 1899 with solid wooden floors. When I initially tried to use the treadmill, my husband said he could feel the the impact in the living room (made an entire room devoted a gym). Now I feel that I am going to break my house. I know this seems ridiculous and maybe hysterically funny to outsiders, but I feel anxiety all the same. Anyway, I am still happy that I have lost 43 pounds and look to shed more. If anyone has reassurance to this anxious (crazy?) woman about the breaking my historical home thing, do let me know ;) |
you are doing good and have already set your goals! You can do it!
Welcome ! |
Thank you very much
Thank you for the motivation :)
It seems weird to lose so much (43 pounds) and be nowhere NEAR a goal weight, but looking at your numbers, I feel extra motivation! Wow YOU are fabulous, my friend! |
Hello and welcome.
:congrat: on the weight you have lost. |
Welcome, Felicia and congrats on your weightloss so far! When was the last time you tried to use your treadmill? If you're too afraid to use it now, at what weight do you think you'd feel more confident? I'm sure with its solid wood floors, you'd be fine. But you seem to have lost a good amount of weight already without it, so you could also just keep doing what you're doing until you reach a more comfortable weight for you before you try the treadmill again. Whichever you choose, good luck! I'm sure you're making your sister so proud of all you've accomplished so far!! I look forward to seeing you around the threads :cb:
