Newbie Here--Looking for a Weight-Loss Buddy!

Hey :) I'm new here. I was visiting another site for a little while but it got slow. I'm back on my weight-loss journey, and I need some support and encouragement, even more, I need some good weight-loss tips! I had almost reached my goal weight a few years ago, but then had back problems, then a baby (he is 1 1/2 now,) and more back problems. So I have nearly put all of the weight back on. I want it gone! But it seems so much harder this time since my back problems prevent me from jogging (which is what I used to love to do.)

Welcome! Best of luck on your endeavor. I really hope that you are able to reach your goal. I'm sure it'll help you keep up with your little one! C U on the board!!!

newbie too

hello,
I am new to this site, but not new to dieting... If it'll help me, I'm game. I am not sure about eating meat on a regular basis, tho. I have been vegan for past year and lost no weight. Just proves that there are still plenty of calories out there w/o meat:devil:

I am considering doing the Ideal Protein diet, but am in the learning stage.:?:

nice to meet you!

Welcome, Tinkerbell! Where about in MD? I'm in NOVA myself. Fairly new to the site and the area, so this is where I've been coming for most of my support. This is a great site and the girls (and guys) here are amazingly motivational and supportive.

Have you thought about aqua classes? I don't know if you have a gym or fitness center in your area that offers them, but if they do and you're able to go, that would be awesome for some cardio and strength training. I recently got into it myself by one of my workout partners who's had knee surgery so she couldn't do regular Zumba anymore. We found a fitness center in our neighborhood with an indoor pool and aqua classes and signed up for them. It really works you out, but there is zero strain on joints and bones.

This is the first time in a couple years I'm trying to lose weight again myself. I tried, half heartedly, a couple years ago, but when I hit a plateau, I completely gave up and gained all of it +40 more pounds. This is the heaviest I've ever been, and being new to the area, it's really made me uncomfortable going out and meeting new people. I decided I don't want to be this way anymore and am determined to lose this weight. I don't think I've ever been this determined, and I don't think I'd still be this motivated two months in without this site. I figure I have all winter to shed as much fat as possible and go into spring with a leaner body! Check out our challenges threads; we just started a few more for the new month. Hope to see you in them, and look forward to reading up on your progress!

Welcome Tinkerbelle!
I'm new to this site as well and I am in need of a weight-loss buddy too! Someone that will help me stay accountable and motivated. Send me a message and we can talk about our goals and the type of support needed!

I wish you the best!
