Newbie here

Hi all, today was my first day on my diet. The prepared food was just awful but I'm hoping the results will be worth it. Had a really hard time getting the required water down. My hubby said I complained all day long. Did I pick the wrong diet? Could use encouragement for tomorrow. Help I'm tempted all ready! :(

Hi, Bricon! What meal plan are you on? I've tried most of them... Just quit Nutrisystem myself last week. I was on MWL before that (Dr. prescribed shakes), and that was TERRIBLE. Are you doing anything physically?

I'm on the Ideal Protein diet. Prepackaged "space" food mixed with real food. This mornings meal was better but I know people who it really worked for and it really did change the way they ate so I'm giving it my all! I'm told after day three there is a total boost of energy so I'm looking forward to that. Wish me luck!

Oh wow.. maybe you need to rethink your plan. If you hate the food you are eating it is not going to last! I love my diet food and it is not anything expensive.

Good luck though! If this is how you feel you need to lose the weight I hope it works out for you!!! :)

That's why I stopped Nutrisystem (and every other meal plan). I didn't like any of the food and within a week I wasn't eating it anymore. I'm finding I'm getting the most success making my own food---switching out a lot of what I used to eat (processed food/starches/sweets) for fruits and veggies. And I'm not a fan of them either, but it's giving me better results than eating pre-boxed food :)

Ash are you on a special diet or just adjusting your old diet? It's certainly working for you.

I am not on a special diet really. These are the things I have done
Eliminate most meat from my diet.
Use fruit and veggies for snacks.
Stick to a 1600 calorie diet
limit my saturated fat, salt and sugar :)

I also exercise nearly every week day for at least 30 minutes but usually about a hour and a half :)

I agree with Ash2007!! If you don't like the food, the diet and weight loss will almost definitely not last! I also love my food! And since my diet plan, I have learned to enjoy in proportion, and explore different recipes. Being on a diet really makes you think outside of the box, and trying to find out new things to eat and experiment. I tend to stay away from refined sugars, saturated fats, and simple carbs and I have several foods I stay away from as well. Only difference is that I don't count calories, but I do stick to only reasonable amounts of food. I also exercise everyday for at least 20 minutes too!
