Hey There!

Hey everyone,

My name is Rachel, I've been struggling with weight since I was about 16 years old because of a traumatic childhood, and basically just ignoring my health. I am an emotional eater at times and would love to not only drop the weight, but maintain a good, healthy weight for the rest of my life. I'm a military wife, aged 27, married for one year, with no kiddies. It's nice meeting you all.

Hi Rachel, welcome to the forum! A fellow Marylander here (living in Baltimore). :)

Sounds like you have a healthy mindset about losing the weight. I'm sure you will find a lot of support and knowledge around this forum. Good luck!

Hi, I'm new also. I have been struggling with my weight for the last 3 years. I always yo-yo an when im doing good it all seems to go bad.

I work full time in an office (so not a very active job) I am a member of a gym but not very committed although i do like to walk the dog alot.

I'm looking to make new friends and hopefully find new ideas to help with dieting.

P.s i have tried every diet going with no luck. Some of the most recent are WW, Slim fast, Slim sticks, Maple syrup. at the minute i am just doing the simple calorie counting and its working.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. @Chloe, I think if you look at it as a diet and not a lifestyle change, it won't work. Diets are only temporary. I'd use WW's way of "portion control" try and eat clean, or follow the 80/20 rule. 80% healthy foods, and 20% non (if you want) and work out 4-5 times a week alternating with cardio and weight lifting. Change up your exercise routine every 4 weeks until you reach your goal and that should work.

Hello!

Hopefully I will see you around! I find the more active and more frequently I visit the forum, the better I do!

Thanks Rachael. I have tried WW but i think i prefer calorie counting. Ive joined the gym and I'm aiming to go 3 or 4 times a week.

Late night snacking is defiantly my weakness :( Hopefully posting on here will give me a distraction :)
