Yet another newbie! (long intro, I am afraid!)

Hello everyone,

glad to have found you! My name is Mila, I am 27 and live in the UK.

I don't have hundreds of pounds to lose, but after some sadness in my personal life I gained some weight and I am now on my way back to my body. I am not superstrict, I am not fad dieting, not doing anything all that drastic; just changing my lifestyle a bit here and there (tweaking it) and adding more exercise in the hope that this will work. So far, without really doing much, I lost nearly 7 kg (in about 10 weeks), but I think the next 7 will be harder.

I started at nearly 75 kg and am now at 68(ish), which puts me just back into the "normal" BMI (so first minigoal achieved!). I have also lost almost 20 cms around so there goes another minigoal. My end goal is to be under 60. I was 57-58 kg before all **** broke lose and that was a nice weight but I was not as active back then, so depending on my awesome muscles, I will try to go on once I am at 59 or not.

I eat a fairly normal diet, but go out a lot with friends, which I have been trying to limit (or still go out but maybe not always eat with them) and I love snacking and that has changed in the past 3 months. I am cutting some snacks out and substituting others with veg such as carrots or cucumber, or fruit. Haven't had my daily chocolate in a while and not really missing it, but I do allow it if I really fancy it.
My "strength" is that I am really active, so I am not coming into this as a couch potato or even as a somewhat unfit person. I do gymnastics (yes chubby people can do it too!) and train 3 days a week for 2 hours and I play handball and/or netball (depending on the season) once a week for an hour and a half. I have cranked up the gym sessions from 1 a week to 3 in the past few weeks and it has been great, both for my skills and for my weight loss.

Goals and minigoals... well I have very wishy washy goals, because I don't want to stress myself out. I would like to be at 65 by the end of this month, but as said, no stress if I am not. I am seeing my family for the first time in nearly a year at the end of November and they saw me at my highest weight last, so I would love to be sort of 60-62 then. And finally for the christmas period we are going on a beach holiday, and I would love to be at goal (so between 57 and 59) then.
Sizewise, I would like to be a 10 or an 8 UK size, I don't think I was an 8 even at 57, so a 10 would suffice really. I am a 12 right now, but it is a tight 12.
And fitness wise, well I want to get better at my sports (in gymnastics every pound more you weigh is weighing you down in your tumble passes making your flight clunkier), I would love to run a 5k, maybe a 10k later on.
But my main goal is to be happy with myself, my body, my life... so if before I get to a certain goal I feel happy, I won't doubt stopping the pursue of a certain number on the scales or a certain size in trousers.

Anyhow, this is ridiculously long, I will have to put a warning in the title! I am sorry, but I only joined once I had clear cut ideas and they are part of me, so need to be part of my intro I guess.

Well, I am excited to get some feedback, to exchange ideas and to share this "journey" with all of you!
Mila

Welcome, Mila! Those sound like fantastic goals and I love how you are not stressing about them. I think that's such a great attitude and a sign of a healthy approach to a lifestyle change. Best of luck!!
