Heyyyyyy!

Hey all! My name is Buffy and I am going to be 30 this fall. Thirty, flirty, and FABULOUS (okay, a little homage to '13 Going On 30').
I really want to fall back in love with the body I once had, feel comfortable in my own skin, and I am now noticing just how much of an impact working out had on me in the past. I WANT, scratch that, NEED that feeling back again. I'm tired of feeling so self conscious of myself. So, here I am.
This mom of two is now committed to working for a change. I may need lots of help along the way, but am so glad this community is here for support.
Here is to lots of posts, joining challenges, and feeling great!

Just wanted to say HI, and :welcome2:

I vaguely remember being 30. But, I do know that if I had started, and stayed with, an exercise program back in my 30's, I would undoubtedly not be on these forums today. So, kudos to you for wanting to be healthy throughout your life.

Thanks for the welcome, Lane Sharon, and a big hi and welcome to you as well! I hope these boards indeed help to keep us on our toes and make more than just our beautiful personalities shine:D

Buffy

Good morning Buffy! I love 13 going on 30! LOL! My name is Dana and I am new to IP. I actually started Monday. Today is Day 3 for me. So far so good. I did get a severe migraine last night but I am feeling much better. I am so excited to meet new people on here and look forward to motivating one another. I am a single mom of a 2 and 4 year old. I have gained 40 pounds in 4 years and desperately want to get rid of it all! I am nervous about this first week of IP. Which day have you found to be the hardest so far?

What is IP? I'm lost on that part. Ideal Protein? :/ I'm sorry...

Glad to meet you, DayDay! You and I are probably built a lot alike since we are close to the same petite height. So far my hardest challenge has been a war in my own mind- just trying to reason with myself on when or if I will get to steppin' and make myself move.
I am going to work on little mini goals throughout my new journey to the new-old me. My first ones being- stick to the Couch 2 5K running plan, drink more water, and don't eat past 8pm. The last one will be a challenge for me. Once I put my 3&5 y/o down for the night, then it is "me" time with my shows and I always reach for unhealthy snacks. I need to start getting to bed at a decent hour too.
What mini goals do you have?

KayleeStar, thank you for the kind welcome too!

Good morning! Yes, IP is Ideal Protein. I started it Monday and am going to try really hard to stick to it. So far, so good. I just don't have much will power when it comes to food. I was an athlete growing up, so I could eat what I wanted when I wanted and never thought twice about gaining weight. After having my babies, I can't seem to lose enough to make a difference.

Yes, we do seem to be built alike! How funny! We also seem to have similar schedules. This is my day...I wake up at 6:00 and get ready; I get the kids up at 6:45 and get them ready; we leave the house at 7:10; I take them to daycare and get to work at 7:30; I work from 7:30 - 5:30; pick kids up at 5:40 and go home; I could dinner while they play; we usually eat around 6:30. Afterwards, I play with them for about 45 minutes then give them baths and put them to bed around 8:30. Then it's "me time" which consist of cleaning the house, doing the laundry, and watching my shows I record.

Not that you cared to hear my schedule but it's hard for moms to find time to exercise and lose weight. it's also sad that I only get 45 minutes a day to play with my children. Oh well, we gotta do what we gotta do!

Good luck with your weight loss! I am here to motivate you! You can do it:carrot:

My first weigh in is Monday. I am nervous already!

tynk82 07-27-2012 02:38 AM

Woot! Tomorrow marks teh end of week 2 of Couch 2 5K!

Princess Squish 07-28-2012 05:09 AM

Awesome! I'm hoping once I am moved I can do the Couch to 5k plan. I'm getting more active and starting to enjoy it more, and I think it would be fun!
Is your endurance increasing?
I use Tae Bo right now (and I LOVE it!) and in just one month (of working out) I have gone from an endurance level of only 5 minutes to being able to go for just over an hour straight.
Keep your eye on the prize!
