Trying a different approach

Hi,
I have regained the 70 pounds I lost 2 years ago, and I want to lose it again. For good this time. Last time I lost weight I barely ate anything for 3 months and lost 70 pounds. It was a horrible way to lose weight. I won't lie, I'd do it again in a heart beat if I thought it would stay off, but I know it won't. Besides it's almost like my body is terrified of starving like that again and I can't bring myself to go a whole day without eating. It seems like that was the only way I've ever lost any weight though so I'm kind of lost. I've been severly overweight since I was 5 and now that I'm 26 I've had enough of it for good. It's to the point that I avoid all social situations, and have become terrified of confrontation. I can't play with my kids like I want to, and I want to feel the freedom of not having all this weight on my shoulders. Being an apple I carry all this weight in my stomach and kind of feel like humpty dumpty alot of the time. I know it's not healthy. I want change.

Welcome!!

Good for you coming on this website! How do you plan to do it this time? I am glad you realize that starving yourself is no way to live, especially in the long term if you want to keep the weight off. Do check out the 20s something threads, 100lb club, or even "mommies" threads (not sure where though, lol) for women in the same boat as you and can give you support as well! :)

Welcome! You can do this. One good decision at a time.

Thanks :) I am going to weigh myself once a week instead of every day, as I become a little too obsessed with the numbers on the scale when I weigh myself every day. I'm going to get a personal trainer involved, so that I actually gain muscle mass, and have someone to be accountable to. I also had surgery in February to fix a hernia I got from my first C-section. I am going to focus more on the healthy aspect then the skinnier aspect. I'm ready to make life long changes that will make my life longer!

Hey there! :)
I totally agree that health should be priority :)
My friend wants to slap me in the face when I tell him that I'm angry with myself and won't eat anything for the whole day :)

I'm looking forward to see your progress :)

btw. if that's you on your profile pictue, you're HOT!
