Howdy!
Hi!
I'm another new person. Current weight is 190 and goal weight is 140. I'm 38 and a single mom to two dogs with as much energy as toddlers at a birthday party on a frosting high. I was able to get my weight down to 135-140 a decade ago with an extreme diet that really wasn't healthy. Since, I've had some health problems (unrelated to the diet), and the weight has crept back up in spite of rigorous rehearsals and classes as a professional dancer. I tried Atkins last summer for about five or six months and didn't lose. I retired my dance shoes about six months ago because the pounding my joints had been taking for years finally became too painful. Also, being the biggest dancer made for a lot of costuming issues. (I was blessed that in our company, every body type was accepted 100%, so nastiness over weight was nonexistent.) I decided to move on to pursue the other things in life I'd set aside for years as I'd pursued dance. I've rediscovered a lot and have found some fun new hobbies, and that makes me really really happy. But I've also gained 20 pounds without dance. I need to find some motivation. I hope that by talking with people in the same boat I can help myself and others reach our goals.
