I have been registered on this site, but I was gone because my computer died (may it rest in "pieces," lol). I will re-introduce myself. I had gastric bypass surgery in 2005. I went from 261 to 111 way, way too fast. We couldn't find the "off" switch. My doctor, family, co-workers, and I were all concerned. I actually needed to gain. I am at 158 right now (I gained). I would like to get to about 130 and maintain. I would like to try Atkins.

I am divorced with a 19 year-old son. I teach English to eighth graders. I am into music, movies, travel, Alaska, coffee, science-fiction, amusement parks, world peace, street fairs, and doing things with my son. I am looking forward to making friends in weight loss. Thanks for reading this. :)

Welcome! Sad to hear your computer is 'resting in pieces' but lol at the pun!

Anyone who can teach middle schoolers can do almost anything! Good luck with the renewed effort to lose. May it be slower and healthier this time!

Welcome to the boards! It can be a little slow around here during holidays and weekends, but SOMEBODY is always on, you may want to check out the message boards for those who have had the same surgery as you, go from discussion to discussion and you will find a place and friends.
