Guess I should say hello ....

About 2 years ago I decided to lose weight, bought a wii fit and revamped my eating habits. I did really well for a couple of months and lost about 25lbs but then life caught up and I stalled, luckily I managed to hold onto what I had lost for a while until my life was on an even keel again.

When life settled I knew I still had changes to make and this time I decide to target smoking (3 Apr 11). I decided right off that I would eat what I wanted and deal with the fall out afterwards. So five months after my last cig the cravings had mostly gone and I knew it was time to jump (well, waddle) onto the scales.

Eek! I'd put back the 25lb + another 14 :( So I fired back up the wii fit and joined up with myfitnesspal. Things have been going slowly but steadily since then, over 6 months or so I lost 31 pounds but in the last 2 months I've hit a plateau.

I'm naturally obsessive about things and the stall has really been getting me down - it seems like the harder I try the less happens and I'm really struggling to stay focused.

I thought I'd join up here and try to keep some motivation going. :)

Welcome to the community!
I have similarly felt as if the harder I try, the more me weight loss stalls, and that, I think, is the biggest discouragment. It's hard to overcome not seeing your efforts paying off, but the best advice I can give is to stay positive and forward-thinking and always tell yourself that it WILL show up in time and not to give up because giving up definitely won't help your plateau.

Stick with it and best of luck!

Welcome, and yeah, stopping the cig can make you gain and gain and gain. You'll get there again, just don't be too hard on yourself. Life is a roller coaster. Just don't let it run you over. ;)
