Re-Introduction
I've been trying to lose weight for years. I've had tons of obstacles - 3 kids, a foot surgery last year, and most recently, a double foot surgery. Last month I had to have my right foot adjusted after last year's surgery, and then my left foot needed some bone shaved down and the bone realligned. So kind of major. Sitting on the couch for the past ~2 months, I've managed to gain back everything I've lost and then some. I'm not sure of my exact weight - I'm actually really afraid to step on the scale. I've never been over 200 unless I was pregnant, but I'm fairly certain that I'm at least 210. Yea - definitely time to get back on track. I can't run or do too much real exercise yet. Yesterday I started a pretty decent workout DVD. I have to really modify a lot of it, but at least it's something!!
I have a really hard time sticking to a diet, but I can usually manage to lose weight because I normally run a lot. Since that isn't the case this time, I'll have to try another way. I think I'm going to try Atkins. Maybe not super strictly, but the basic lo-carb concept. I have my quick-reference Atkins "acceptable food" book, and I'm ready to go. Wish me luck!
