Congrats on your committment to better health!! If the early days are tough for you, perhaps a juice cleanse for a couple days would help make it easier? In any case, wishing the best for you!! Hang in there!

Well, there are probably a lot of people and websites who can give you better info than I can, but I've known of people who had good luck with drinking fresh carrot juice for a few days when they are trying to stop smoking. It's best ice cold and with a beet or apple thrown in the mix to add a sweeter flavor. When I started my diet in January, I was a junk food junkie and I drank fresh juiced apples for 3 days and I was amazed how my cravings for junk disappeared. It may not work for everyone, but it worked for me. I've always heard carrot juice is better for those who are quitting smoking though.....supposed to help remove toxins. And drink LOTS of water. The detox phase can actually cause headaches or flu like symptoms for a little while and the water will help flush them out. Just like after a good massage when some people feel lousy (from the released toxins) if they aren't drinking water. I've been making juice and smoothies a lot over the last 10 weeks and have had good luck with them, but different things work for different people. I thought I hated spinach....now I love it in my smoothies with an orange and frozen bananas. :) To begin your diet and quit smoking at the same time is quite the untaking! You'll feel so much better! Keep us posted on how your doing.

By the way, some people go on juice diets for weeks at a time. I don't see how that can be good for the body at all, but doing it for 3 days can be very cleansing and beneficial for a lot of people.
