Back and ready for action!

Hello everyone!

I was a member on here about two years ago when I was finishing up my undergraduate career. I had to stop coming here when I began graduate school because my program was incredibly demanding...I'm talking 14 hour days which included a night class every single day..,not fun! So with that being said, I stopped coming here. I also stopped going to the gym every day and eating healthy because I only had time for what was convenient. I'm happy to say that I am currently completing my last semester of graduate school and will be graduating in may. My last semester consists of me being at home and completing two practicums so I FINALLY have the time to cook and exercise! The only problem? I've been home for a month now, and I'm still looking for that kick in the butt to get me going! Exercise isn't the problem, eating is!!

Before grad school, I had lost 30 lbs and I was the happiest I had ever been. Because of grad school, I've gained half of that back. I'm ready to lose that 15 again along with another 5 lbs and finally be happy with myself! My weight has been a life long struggle, and I'm ready to battle this and win the war for good! This site was such a great motivator for me, I'm looking forward to meeting new friends and being a weight loss buddy! :)

Hi Samantha,

Same here - back and ready for action. The holidays were brutal for me and have gained a fair bit. This time it's for real and this site is just fantastic for motivation.

Sammalamma, welcome, glad to have you join us. great name! I suggest you look for a Challenge or Support group to join; small check-in groups make it easier to connect, get involved, and be accountable. We have groups centering around specific diet plans, themes, or age groups, so find one that inspires you and just post to join!

Welcome! The biggest time saver for me is cooking dishes ahead of time, freezing them in portions with labels, and pulling out my own freezer meals for days when I have little time to cook. I like to make 2-3 dishes every weekend, and I ended up with a variety of meals that just keeps growing and rotating.

Good luck! :carrot:
