Hi. I'm in!
Hi everyone.
I have 77 pounds to lose, and it's so time. I'm 44 years old, and live in Portland Oregon. I'd love to find a local accountability buddy -- please get in touch if you want to do this together! My favorite commercial diet is South Beach, just because the basic principles make so much sense to me (low animal fat, protein, veggies, whole foods). I'm not sure if I should follow it to a T (all phases in order) or just start eating according well and counting calories. I think my biggest obstacles are sheer laziness -- which I think comes from feeling a sense of complete overwhelm at the long road ahead and a lack of faith in myself. I also have a hard time figuring out how to feed my family the way I'd like to eat. I have been lurking here for years, but now want to join the community, because I know how important peer support is, and I'd love to connect with other people who are on the same path. Ilsita, welcome, glad to have you come out of lurking and join us. I suggest you look for a Challenge or Support group to join; small check-in groups make it easier to connect, get involved, and be accountable. We have groups centering arouns specific diets, themes, or age groups, find one that inspires you and just post to join! Be sure to check out the South Beach and 40-somethings
