Hi! 60 lbs to go.

  • Hi! I am 44, married with 4 kids, 3 of which are now living out of the house and I am unemployed (anyone hiring??! )

Over the last 10 years the weight has just slowly piled on. I used to be pretty much active and fit. I was in the Army and loved to exercise. Later I went back to college and got my degree in nursing. Somewhere in there after two kids and tons of stress, the depression came back (been fighting with this since I was a teen). With the depression came the weight. So depression and eating became my life. I stopped working, stopped exercising and became a hermit. I put on 75 pounds.

Last month I started exercising just a little bit at time. Now a month later I have lost 11 lbs and am able to do 30-40 minutes on my elliptical.

I came to this forum to find others like myself that not only have struggled with the weight but are battling depression also.

I would love to find a weight loss buddy or two. So, if this is you, great! Let me know!

Otherwise, "hi!" to everyone and I'm glad this forum is here!

    Linda
  • Welcome Linda!

I'm new to 3fc too & also from Florida. I can totally relate to being stressed due to college. Thats how I gained my weight.

Anyways, I wish you the best of luck on your journey!
  • Welcome Linda! Check out the depression forum here, there's so much great support. You may also want to join the 40-somethings, and possibly you'd be interested in a challenge? You've come to the right place for understanding and motivation!
