Starting over... tail between legs

Hello everyone :) I've joined this site previously but was basically only a lurker too shy to communicate with others. I've been heavy all my life and is the 6th and FINAL time I've started a weight loss journey. I've learned a lot from my previous failures and I finally think I've changed my entire lifestyle instead of just dieting. I have both my eating and exercising at a level where I can do this for the long haul. Another thing I've decided this time is to tell everyone I'm trying to get healthy giving myself accountability for the first time. I've always hidden my dieting etc before but I see now hiding it made it worse on me. I'm hoping this site will also do the same for me, giving me support and a push in the right direction when needed.

Get that tail up!
I'm back here again for the 66th time (ok, exaggeration) but returners and re-starters should be proud of ourselves! Sure, it would have been better not to have fallen off the waggon but even by returning, we're doing better than most folk!

Good luck!

I am in the same boat. I had gotten down to a really good weight (from a really high one) and then went even higher. I encourage you to post and ask questions here, to get and give support. Everyone is extremely helpful and encouraging, and they have lots of good advice. I feel like interacting with other people in the same situation and getting their encouragement helps far more than trying to go it all alone. Welcome back and good luck! :)

Good for you for coming back and jumping on the wagon again.

This is my 3rd time I've been serious about weight loss.. but I know this time was different for me. All my previous failures have made me so much more successful this time. Good Luck!

Thanks everyone!!! It means so much to me that even though you don't personally know me you're still so encouraging. Yep I definitely made the right decision on coming back here :D

Welcome back!! Almost everyone on a weight loss journey has had some starts and stops - the most important thing is that you're starting back again and you've learned some important lessons about yourself along the way!

Welcome back. We are all doing it together.

If at first you don't exceed...................you know the rest! I think most people on this site have tried more than once to lose weight, and have failed, or gained it back. Myself included, so much self sabotage.... I weighed ~327 last year this time, lost down to 285 by May, and now I am back to 327! We'll all do it together and feel great --- we can make THIS TIME THE TIME!

Yup, it took me about that many times to finally "get it" too! :) Once I resigned myself to the fact it doesn't happen overnight and I found a sustainable weight loss plan perfect for ME, it was pretty much smooth sailing from there. Oh sure, I had my moments when I wanted to throw myself down on the floor and kick and scream but they were always overshadowed by the joy I felt when the scale numbers dropped as well as my clothing sizes.

Make a bunch of mini goals for yourself and reward yourself as you reach them. You have done a wonderful job so far! Keep up the great work!! :D
