Newbie looking for support and positive people!
Hello folks of 3 Fat Chicks! I'm new to the site, new to this type of forum in general, but I thought I would give it a shot! We can use all the support we can get right? I started my weight loss journey about 7 weeks ago! I've been sticking to a diet of 1200 calories or less per day, and making sure to eat plenty of healthy foods! I choose organic fruits and vegetables, whole wheat grains and pastas, and lean meats for my meals. I generally eat 4-5 times a day. At least 2 meals, with snacks in between to keep my metabolism up. It's amazing how much variety and interesting foods I've found so far! I thought it would be difficult to stick to a diet (I come from fast-food, comfort, grease loving stock), but I love it so far and I am confident I will finally succeed! I am not out to just "lose a few pounds quick" and I am certainly not going to do the "fad diet" thing. It's never worked for me in the past. I am doing this to change my lifestyle and maintain a healthy weight permanently! So here I go! I have also been working out at least 3 times a week, cardio and strength training. The exercise is the hardest part for me, the part that I need the most encouragement to continue. I'm down 12 pounds so far, with my weigh-in and measurements tomorrow! I record them every Saturday. So, tell me about yourself and where you are in your weight loss journey! I may not be able to check this often, so please don't be offended if I don't reply right away. Will be nice to hear from you! Let's keep it up! We can all do it! And please feel free to post ideas that have worked for you!

Hello there and welcome to the forum! I just love your postivie attitude, and congratulations on the weight you've lost thus far.
I've been up and down the scale so much over the last 34 years it's ridiculous. I am finally at that enough-is-enough point. I don't have any medical conditions as of yet, but I'm closing in to 50 years old and want to keep the hypertension and high cholesterol that runs on my parents side out of my life. So I'm not just losing the weight to look good in clothes anymore...my life it at stake. I refuse to be a burden for my kids to take care of years down the line. I want to be a vivacious and healthy old lady. I hope to see you around the boards. Please join a challenge to help keep up that motivation. You can do this! This board is a plethora of health/weight loss information. |
