Hi, I am Julie
I have never been on a diet before. I love sweets. I tend to eat to much at one sitting. I have started calorie counting and figuring out how much calories is in each food. I am figuring out that things I thought was healthy, such as 2 cups of milk and a banana, is actually high in calories. I do not eat much meat. I am not vegetarian, but I just don't like meat very much. |
Hi Julie, welcome to 3FC!
With your example of 2 cups milk and a banana, I wouldn't exactly consider it unhealthy. If you do 2 cups of skim (180 calories) plus a medium banana (another 80) then you're at 260 calories which isn't bad and would probably be a nice snack or start to a good breakfast. Of course, if you're talking 2 cups whole milk then that's almost 300 calories from milk alone! For me, calorie counting is about trade offs and flexibility :) If you need any ideas for snack, meals, and more there are tons of great suggestions all around the forum and everyone's always willing to help out. I'm new here too. I just signed up today and have never used forums before. I'm trying to learn how this all works. I want to learn how to use the ticker. I have the url but don't know where to post. it. I have been a yo-yo dieter my whole life. I recently started a new diet and have lost 16 pounds. I hope I can keep it up and get lots of tips on this site. :) |
