Hesitantly Reintroducing Myself
Hi Everyone!
Ohhhhhhhh I am back...lol. I have been a member of 3FC since 2008 but I have only visited on and off for the last two. In those two years I have gained back 50lbs and now I am ready to stop that movement back up the scale. When I first lost weight 3FC had a large part in helping me stay motivated and focused and I have always been so grateful for that. So why am I doing so hesitantly...because I am moving into a time of training. Every year I have family who complete a 525 mile bike ride in the California Coast Classic in memory of my baby cousin who passed away of JDMS when she was 10yrs old. I have decided that I am going to ride in her memory in two years and I am terrified. I need to physically get it together and I feel that I can do so in two years. I know that my size has never really stopped me from being athletic. Now it looks like I am going to put myself to the test. So...its time for me to... Get Ready. Get Set. and Go! |
A wonderful long term goal to tackle one day at a time. That you are hesitant shows your commitment, because you know what is ahead for a good length of time so you are not going into this lightly.
I truly hope you feel proud that this day seals your resolution to try to be where you want to be in two years time. Good luck with the start of this journey. |
Welcome back aboard, Tavinni. It's great that you have set a goal for yourself and are giving yourself time to work towards that goal! To make it easier (and not seem like your end goal is so far away), set mini goals, too. I find it easier to focus on endurance-based goals rather than weight goals. For example, I can only bike for 15 minutes now, but in two or four weeks, I want to be able to bike for 45 (or some other activity - walking, elliptical, jogging, what have you).
Keep coming back and staying motivated!! |
Hi Tavinni!
I just returned to 3FC after a few years away, too. And like you, during that time I gained back the 40 - 50 lbs I lost. Sounds like you have a wonderful reason to get fit :). Welcome back. |
Welcome back and good luck!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I am just going to be taking it one day at a time. Best wishes to you all.

You can do it!! I did the same thing as you and LovesBassets almost to the letter. Joined in 08, lost 40 lb, gained back 50 and am on the road to doing it all over again!! I wonder what it is about that 40 lbs that makes us decide to quit losing and what it is about those 40-50lbs that brings us back? In any case, glad you're here!
