New and nervous.

Hello everybody! Just found this forum and am in love with it.

I've struggled with my weight since I was about 5 years old. It's been a constant struggle where I got stuck in "might as well keep eating cause I feel awful about myself anyways."

I've tried eating healthy and working out for the past 3 years but give up VERY quickly. I've started workout and eating regimens like a thousand times by now.

This time though, I'm receiving the help of a dietitian. Very excited about that.

I'm looking to get inspiration and encouraging words from you ladies, as well as sharing anything I learn along the way...

Currently I'm trying to get back into Turbo Jam (this worked for me a while back but some personal problems came up and I stopped). I'll be starting it tomorrow. Might check out Zumba too. Keeping a food journal and somewhat paying attention to calories but I'm not very good at that.

Welcome! I am fairly new myself but really loving this website. I know you mentioned the food journal. You know whenever I read that people say you need to do that I would cringe! For some reason I found it to be the BIGGEST pain in the a$$ to do. BUT I caved, and I write down every speck of food that goes in my mouth. And it works. I also count calories and would tell anyone that if there is ONE thing you need to own its a kitchen scale. I weight everything I eat!

I have to say I LOOOOVED zumba. So fun. If you can convince a friend or relative to go with you to a class definitely do. Its even more fun when you can laugh at yourself and each other. Loved it even more when I learned just how uncoordinated all my very thin friends really are!

I notice your age. I just said this on another post so sorry for the redundancy but I was telling her, she was also 21, that my one regret was not doing this sooner! I am going to turn 30 in december (eek!), my 20s were absolutely amazing, but if I had done this sooner they could have been a million times better. So I really do wish you the best of luck.

Hi I am brand new also and I am so excited about this forum. I am going to do this once and for all and with such a great group of people doing exactly the same thing this will not feel like a such a hard task. I have used Turbo Fire which I wouldn't recommend for beginners but I'm pretty athletic to keep up with it and it is an amazing workout every part of your body feels it. I wish all the newbies the best of luck!!!!

Ohhh welcome! and good luck! :D I am also seeing a weight loss doctor, and I am finding that having proper information as well as someone else weigh me monthly to track my progress to help tremendously!!

The hard part is over!! You made the decision to do something about it. Things get easier now!!
