New one

Good Afternoon! I am 47 and currently weigh 201. My goal is 145. I am doing the IP diet. Any advise/suggestions?? Thanks!!!:)

Hello Fonda. I am new to IP as well, I just finished my first week and was down 5.2lbs 3.5 inches, woo hoo.

My recommendation that I have seen all over this forum is to stick to the program as your coach recommends. I also found that I like the IP shakes/soups etc better when I blend them in my blender verses shaking them in the shaker that I got in my start up kit.

I also started at 201 and my goal is 140.

Good luck!

Hi! I am on day 4 and I won't go back for weigh in until next Tuesday. The scales have not moved. I was on the HCG diet before this and of course I saw the weight falling off..... However I do feel better but I don't know what to expect for weight loss.....I am not exercising due to the heat here. The high today is 110....

YvetteSki 08-04-2011 04:10 PM

Wow, that is crazy hot. I live in Canada and the heat isn't too bad. My IP coach told me not to exercise for now.

Regarding what to expect for weight loss, my theory, if the numbers go down I'm happy. I know that the scale fluctuates a lot so I don't solely rely on the scale. The program guide said that woman should lose from 3-5lbs/week but I have been looking at other ladies trackers as they put them in their signatures and it really is all across the board.

If you stick to the program it will happen. As we're in the same range, hey, we can do it together.

Fonda 08-04-2011 04:15 PM

Yes we can! I have not been as hungry today which my coach told me would happen! I know I didn't gain it over night but I would like to lose it over night!! lol

YvetteSki 08-04-2011 04:18 PM

Haha, me TOO!! I keep telling my hubby that I wish it were 6 months from now already so that most of it will be off. I have no idea how long it is going to take to get to 140ish, did you ask your coach about that at all?

Fonda 08-04-2011 04:36 PM

Yes but she didn't say she said they were more concerned with BMI.....I am 5'6 and I am at 198.4.....

YvetteSki 08-04-2011 05:02 PM

Oh ok, I am 5'4 currently at 195.7 thanks to IP. I had been struggling to get below 200lbs no matter how much running I did and eating healthy. My sister's friend Linda is on this program as well and my sister said that Linda also struggled to get the weight off before IP but is having amazing results with IP.

Since my sister knows someone who is doing it and is getting results, I figured heck why not give it a try. I think my sister may join IP as well after she is back from vacation.

Happy Friday!!

Hope all is going well with you and that you have a great weekend. I'm not sure if I'll be on the computer this weekend. As I work from home on a computer all week I try not to go on on the weekends.

Fonda 08-09-2011 03:43 PM

Good Afternoon!!!
I just got back from my first weigh in and I have lost 4 lbs and 5 1/2 inches!!!! Yea!!!!:carrot:

YvetteSki 08-10-2011 10:51 AM

Yay, that is awesome, good job!

I go for my second weight in tonight. I've been bad and stepping on my scale every morning and honestly haven't gone down at all, not even 1/2 a lb so my hubby told me to stop stepping on the scale as he thinks I'm stressing myself out about it which is causing the no weight loss....so, this morning I did not step on the scale.

I'll message you tomorrow morning to let you know how I've done. I'll be happy with inch loss tonight, as long as something is going down, I'm good to go.

YvetteSki 08-11-2011 10:57 AM

So, I went down 1.2 and lost 4 inches. Woo hoo. I know the weight loss isn't great but my body has always lost slow so I wasn't shocked about that. At least I lost 4 inches. Almost the weekend! My daughter is coming home for the weekend as she's been away working all summer, I'm excited, I miss her a lot. She's only 16.

Newbie to 3FC

Good morning everyone-I found this website yesterday and am thrilled about it. I am currently a new grandma visiting my new grandson (he is 3 days old). When I return home next week I am planning on going on the South Beach Diet. I have tried it before, it works, I just didn't stick with it. I am tired of trying to 'hide my weight' in clothes, folded arms, sweaters thrown across my lap etc. I want to get excited about hopping in the boat again in a swimming suit, attending events in sleeveless dresses, not be the big girl of the party. I am 46, outgoing, optimistic, live in a small town, have a wonderful family, have decided that now is MY time. Now its time for me to take care of ME. Now its tiime to get serious about becoming the woman on the outside, I already am on the inside.

Some of my weak points: *I hate to exercise. I am good for two or three days and give up. *my weakness is anything crispy/salty, ie chips. *my husbands not in need of losing weight, it's not going to be a joint effort (but he is supportive).
Some of my strong points: *Im very optimistic. *I have all the SBD books (including recipe books). *I Love to cook. *I really want to look and feel better, I am serious.

I would love to meet like minded people in all stages of SBD (or any diet really) and hear any suggestions you might think would help in my new endeavor. Thank you in advance!
