Newbie hello and hurray!

  • I'm so excited to have found a place with so much knowledge and support! I see that I fit in several places already....

    I just started a tentative plan this week and have lost 2 pounds, and I'm getting my tools together and resources. Having made it to 40 three months ago, it became a reflective time for me, and I knew it was time to make real changes. Making the plan was the next step.

    I'm struck by the connection between weight and mental health and self love/self esteem/valuing yourself. It is probably my life's work to get that together for myself. Sometimes it takes a long time to even understand it might be an issue.

    Anyway, ready to break a family cycle of obesity or bulimia/chemical dependency to not be obese, do it in a healthful way (before my last relationship I lost 120 lbs but did it without research or support) and hopefully help and encourage others!

    I'm a teacher so the last part is one I really enjoy, although I plan on being a learner here as well!
