You have to start somewhere

Ok, where to start? I recently turned 30 and it's time to get of my a**. English is not my first language so I'm apologizing for all future spelling/grammar mistakes.

I was never a fat child , I wasn't skinny either. Just normal , i guess. I was a happy kid , friends , no problems in school. It all changed in 8th grade , suddenly I was the classmate nobody liked. Maybe because I wasn't into boys or the right music . I still don't know :?: After therapy because of these issues at school (according to the principal I was exaggerating , nothing like that ever happened at his school ... ) I "broke off" with my best friend because I felt she was patronizing and so my days as TV junkie started . TV + sandwich = weight gain. I managed to lose all that weight but not in a healthy way . I simply stopped eating and lived a "1 granola bar a day" lifestyle . I would have lost all control over it if it hadn't been graduation time . I had no real plans for my future and so it was sandwich time again. and that's it . A few weeks ago I saw a picture of me at my graduation and even though, back than, I thought I was the fattest most ugliest girl in the world, I actually looked really good, I just couldn't see it.

So I'll start with 163 lbs at 5' 3'' and I want to get to 110 lbs ( graduation day picture)

There are people with English as a first language and can't articulate as well as you... so bravo!

The second bravo goes to you for coming to this message board and introducing yourself. :) Now is the perfect time to reinvent yourself emotionally and physically! This time next year you will be a happier and more confident person.

Just be careful that you don't fall into the same 1 granola bar a day trap. I did that the first 3 weeks I started my diet. Then I realized I was even more unhealthy and my "diet" mindset had to change. I started to eat healthier, joined a gym and adopted the attitude that this is a lifestyle change - not a diet.

What is your eating plan going to be? Or are you still figuring that out?

Welcome to 3FC =)

There are numerous people from all over the world who join in on 3FC, so dive on in. We're a welcoming bunch! :D

We all have the same goals around these parts... be healthier! That may mean losing a few pounds along the way, which is great, but we encourage all members to do it mindfully and healthfully. No more "1 granola bar a day" We won't have it!

You might find (as you get closer to goal) that you don't actually need to lose as much weight as you think you do. Only time will tell. :)

Since you seem to want to be going about this in a better manner than you did before, what are you food and exercise plans?

Best of wishes! And I hope to see you around the boards!

:welcome: you will find the people here very supportive & helpful. I agree with LOVELY, as you go along, take some more pictures; I'd bet you'll likely see that you don't need to lose as much as you think now ... :D

I'm really lazy , that seems to be the biggest problem . I hate to cook for one person so I usually just buy something on my way home from work (I work at a hospital lab , which also means different shifts )And there is the fact that I don't eat when I'm hungry because the 1 granola bar thing killed the hungry feeling and it never came back. I have no problem with healthy food, I just have to get over my take out addiction and start using my kitchen

I love to swim , I haven't done it in years until I visited my aunt in June and we went to lake near by. So I'm going to buy my summer season swim ticket tomorrow
