Hi, Everyone!

I'm Elizabeth. Nice to meet you all! Umm... I joined this forum to get some help and advice as I lose weight. I don't really have anyone to talk to about it, since everyone I know just tells me that I look fine or that if I stop eating so much, I'll lose weight in no time. They don't really understand what it's like to be addicted to food the way I am... So I hope to meet some people who struggle with the same problems I do, so maybe we can help each other out!

Hi Elizabeth and welcome to 3FC!

People who don't struggle with their weight often mean well when they say "Just don't eat as much" or "You look fine", but they don't really understand what it's like.

It's why 3FC is so great! It's a forum full of people who really understand the struggle.

We might all have different methods, but we want to see everyone succeed!

You can do this

Hi welcome!

I love food because it brings me comfort, so I'm trying to find new things to comfort me. Also, i think a lot of us eat in "robot mode". I'm starting with keeping track of what i eat on an app/online tool called My Fitness Pal. Even if you can't keep to the calorie restrictions, it's eye opening to see everything you consume written down. I've skipped some snacks because I just didn't want to record them. :)

Best of luck!

Hello and welcome to 3FC's I'm new here also and I l-o-v-e the support and encouragement, information people give on this forum.

Two weeks ago I was feeling down about messing up on my diet. You know beating myself up with negative self-talk which only made me more depressed which meant I ate more junk!! Then I read this article “The Weight Loss Management Psychology” by Malcolm Baptiste and it changed my behavior and my thoughts in one week!!!

I encourage EVERYBODY to check it out! It worked for me, and I know it will work for you, because Knowledge is Power!!!

Also check out my blog at: newme62 on the 3Fatchicks blog site

Here’s to all of our success!!!

I have recognized a serious sugar addiction in myself that I didn't know I had. It is at the root of my weight issues and I am learning to get control of it. If I stay away from sugary foods, I don't crave them. But as soon as I have them, I want more. An issue for many I'm sure. I am trying different approaches, one of them being self-talk! My family thinks I'm going nuts! but it works! I am learning to talk myself OUT of food. Try it and all the best:^:

I identify with you! Sugary snacks - candies, cakes, all the good stuff, are always my downfall. Most of my friends are more of salty food people, but not me. In fact, I have a bag of fun size m&ms sitting on my desk right now, staring at me. But I, like you, recognize I have an addiction and need to combat it. Not by cutting them out entirely - that would just end badly. Moderation is what I'm going for and I hope that I can develop the willpower to say when I've had enough. Good luck to all of you!

AMEN to that! I've heard it just a few too many times in my life.

I'm in the same boat, and here for support when and if you need somebody to talk to. I'm starting all over with this struggle, as its been lifelong!

Cheers and good luck!

I'm a salty person myself. Chips, crackers, popcorn (sans butter, just salt), pretzels, nuts, etc. Just can't control myself. Chips are my best food friend and worst enemy.
