Hello from Canada - lots to lose ;)
Hi all,
I think I share a similar story as many of you... but here it is anyways :) My name is Ginger, I am 36 and proud Mom to 2 kids (7 girl and 2 year old boy). Right now, I am at 233 lbs (having lost 3 in this past week). In 2006, I tipped the scales at 260 and lost 55 lbs .. then SMACK! Something derailed my efforts -- I got pregnant (again) and did really good at not putting on too much. But sometime after I stopped breastfeeding .. the weight slowly started to creep back on and I have regained 30 lbs in the last year! So, I need some help -- and hopefully I will find it here. My biggest issue is accountability and keeping momentum sustained. I had almost gotten back down to 210 only a while ago and Bammo, it came right back on. The complication is that I work full time, and then also have a photography business on the side which is super busy. So my vice is convenience food -- I have no time for long meal prep times -- and really not even much time on the weekend (especially in wedding season) to prepare in advance. The girls in my office and I started to do Zumba DVD on our lunch hours since I have been having a hard time getting exercise in. Umm, I think that is it -- my goals are as followed: Goal 1: I would like to lose 30 lbs by Sept 13 for my trip to Florida Goal 2: By December, I would like to lose another 20 lbs Ultimate Goal: I would like to be 150. I think that is still over my ideal weight (at 5 ft 3) but it should be realistic I hope. My last weight loss effort was really just about changing my food choices, being more conscious of food choices, regular exercise and the one fad kinda thing was removing carbs from supper. |

Welcome to 3FC =)
There are a lot of different areas around the boards, so take a look around and participate wherever you're comfortable! Best of wishes! :) |
Welcome Ginger! I know how you feel - I had lost some weight early this semester but between all of my commitments and then finals, graduation, etc I 'fell off the wagon'. My best suggestion as a work around for the time crunch issue is to make meals when you do have time, but make a lot of it and then freeze or otherwise store it in portions so you can take them with you. If you search around the forums a bit, some other members do this regularly and they might be able to give you some tips :)
