35 pounds to go

  • Hi all~

I'm Amanda from Texas, here is my intro

I started at a whopping 166 pounds after i had my daughter in 2007 (i am only 4'11, so it looks like i weigh 200)

It took me a year of off and on gym time to loose 12 pounds and i stayed at 153 for a looong time. I knew i was heavy, but seeing pics after Thanksgiving i saw what i was doing to myself.

So i ditched the soda and quit smoking, and got into clean eating and walking the neighborhood 3 to 5 times a week... also lifting weights
another 6 weeks i slowly lost 10 pounds... now im down to 145... (i bounce back and forth between 147 and 144)

Now im pretty much off the eating clean wagon and back to my old weighs... i started smoking again too... GRRRR. I do this a lot. Stress and financial worries cause me to emotionally eat, but once I start my new job and can afford clean foods, im sure i'll get back to fitness and being healthy....

I also love movies, reality tv, reading, painting and i start Nursing Aide classes in the Spring of 2012 I also write fiction ots...

I've been marred 4 years, my hubby is a welder helper, soon to be oilfield/pipe welder. My daughter is 3 yrs old and is currently working on potty training... Thats all for now, glad to be here and to get to know you all

    Happy fitness!
    ~Manda

I think you'll find a lot of support on this site. Many people have also battled weight gain related to stress and financial triggers.

    Good luck!
  • Welcome!

Changing habits takes a loooooong time. It takes a lifetime.

I think you should be commended for trying to quit smoking -and- trying to eat healthier at the same time. That's a lot of change at once.

It's not about being perfect. It's about dusting ourselves off after a misstep and then continuing on the road.

    You can do this
