trying something new
hey guys, so IM NEW!! Hello me :)
so, hmmmmmm my name is sofie- i live in ottawa, on(Canada) I started out at a whoppin' 269 lbs, and went down to about 210 lbs in 8 months, then went back up to 224, and I am now currently hovering at about 208-210 (my lowest recent is 206!! woooooo!!) My initial weight loss was simply by monitoring food intake (predominantly weight watchers), and I am currently following weightwatchers losely, and do bikram yoga, which I am obsessed with about 4-5 times a week. My currently mini-goal is 199 lbs (since I cannot remember the last time I was below 200 lbs), and my overall goal is about 150 lbs, and then to quit smoking/reduce coffee intake. I also want to learn how to run, and do a very simple 5k run in the middle of september. lets rock!! :carrot: |
Welcome to 3FC =)
Congrats on your success so far! I'm following WW, too. And there's a WW section under Diet Central if you want to connect with others who use the program. But, there are all sorts of support groups so look around and post wherever you're comfortable! We're all here to help encourage eachother to be healthier every day. Best of wishes! |
Hey! Gosh doesn't it kill you to be so close to 200 (or 199!) that you want to do anything and everything to get there quickly?! I'm at 214- haven't been that low in years and being so close is killing me!
My first yoga class was bikram- it was super intimidating to me and i had never sweated so much in my whole life! Anyways nice to meet you! :) |
hey thanks for all the support!! it's like it's immediate, that's fantastic!!
as for ww- it works, but you have to be persistent. just about 200 is killer. it actually boils my blood everytime i look at the scale because it's SOOOO close. and bikram, oh bikram. i cannot say enough positive things about it. this is coming from somebody who HATES, HATES, AND HATES sweating. I think that sweat is disguising, and commuting home sweaty is every grosser. BUT bikram is such a wonderful thing, it does a lot of good, and i find that it does wonders for decreasing my appetite (especially on the night munches). another really great thing, is the permanent state of dehydration. i am a student, with a fairly active social life. i have spent many years bar tending (and did manage to love 55 lbs with weight watchers while still drinking- i swear by double rye and diets), but bikram actually rids me of any desire to go and have a drink, and if i do it is only just one, and i get a little buzz going which is perfect. this ultimately means less booze consumption. YAY!! |
Welcome to the forum! Hope you enjoy it and good luck on your journey!
