New Memeber

Hello there,

I just wanted to introduce myself...just signed up for this forum today. My name is Candice and I'm looking to lose about 45 pounds. This is my second "attempt" to lose weight. I say "attempt" because I lost about 80 pounds starting back in 2005-2006. I've been struggling with my weight since I was little...probably since I was 7 or 8. However, over the past year and a half or so, I've gained a little over half of it back due to not sticking with my good eating habits, stopped working out and had back surgery almost a year ago.

I've been very frustrated with myself over the whole weight gain because at my peak of getting fit I SWORE I would never let myself gain back this weight. Low and behold I have gained, like I said about half of it back. I can't fit in any of the clothes that I want to wear (my jeans namely) and have lost my motivation to work out.

I've done it once before so I know I can do it. I just have to get back on track. Besides, I only have 45 pound to lose...not 80. haha

You are not alone at all. I, too, regained weight that I had SWORN I'd never put back on. So not only do I have to take it all off again, but there's this little devil of shame lurking on my shoulder.

It's taking a lot to try and not let it get the best of me.

We can do it. We can return to our original goals, and we'll be all the wiser about how to avoid the pitfalls that we once fell into!

Best of wishes!

Hi Candice! My story is quite similar to yours. I started losing weight last year after having my hysterectomy. I was on light duty at work so I had lots of energy to work out (within reason) and I started eating healthy. In 3 months I had lost 43lbs and was nearing the half way pof my goal. By then I was off light duty and working my very physical job. A rotator cuff problem took me out for a little while & I lost my momentum. Now 8 months later I'm almost back where I started. Minus 4lbs! LOL I think this time it will stick I just have to keep trying every day. My job is just so physically demanding and by the time I get off work I'm a zombie!

Good luck with your goal & I hope you enjoy the time here. Welcome :)
