New and wanting to lose!

Hi all, Im Kelli.

Im here to get support and heck even suggestions, to help me lose the weight I have gained since December 2008. A bit of background...

I had a job in the galley (cafeteria type thing) of a navy base.. running around like a chicken with my head cut off.. I was down to my lowest, a size 12, almost into a size 10!

January 30th of 2010 I quit smoking. If any of you have gone through this, you know that the first year is not much more than gaining weight.

I am now up to my highest weight ever (afraid to step on scale.. last year it was up to just under 220) and Im scared! I dont want to be this person who gets worn out just thinking of running around with my two sons (14 and 8).

I have tried not using an acutal diet but just trying to make better choices.. its obviously not worked so far...

Help?
~Kelli

Hey Kelli! :wel3fc:

We have a ton of spots here to check out, including a lot of plans to explore that might work for you. We also have groups by age range and amount to lose, so look around!

Then just find a spot, settle in, and get to posting. Can't wait to get to know you better!

Hey there & Welcome to 3FC!

Making better choices is actually a good start. Keeping track of all the choices you make might be your next step. Writing down the food you eat (not even changing anything for a week) could help you see where improvements can be made =)

Look around. Post wherever you're comfortable. Best of wishes!

I guess I forgot to put why I started at Dec 08 lol..

I was laid off on Dec 12, 2008. so the depression I already have, added to the fact that I lost my job 3 weeks after moving into a new apt (with hubby & 2 boys) and right before Christmas just...wow... ya know?

Mandalinn82 & Lovely - Thank you both for the warm welcome.
Lovely, I have a little journal thing that I was thinking about using for that exact thing! I am also considering going on the Weight Watchers Online thing.. I have looked into it and will have the money this Friday..

Hi and welcome :)

I've been on the Weight Watcher routine for 11 days today and it feels great :) Althought, because I don't have the money to subscribe to it, I'm doing what I call ''illegal Weight Watcher'' : I'm doing the Points Plus system (from the booklet I found on ebay) and I really like the program so far :)

Best wishes!! :)

You are going to think I am nuts, but I already love you! I work (ok volunteer) at a used book store and I have a "complete food companion" that I got for all of 50c and I have been tryin to just figure out how it all works, ya know? I will have the $50 to do the first 3 months, but after that I more than likely wont be able to afford it. I am only able to because we got ahead on the electric bill this month lol.

If you dont mind private chatting on here, maybe we can share tips?

If you're interested in following WW "legally" or "illegally" lol! there's a WW section down under Diet Central where you can chat with others keeping on the plan.

I, myself, am actually a WW member. I definitely encourage people who are interested to try it out as it's a good way to keep track of food and activity. :)

Although I haven't been on the PointsPlus plan for as long (seeing as it's their new plan) I have been a member of WW for many years now and really...really... love talking about it.

I am definitely planning to try it. I can only afford it for the 3month sign up, I honestly don't think I can afford it after that. I found the area your talkin about and actually posted over there :D

Thanks again, Lovely!
