Hi I am from Massachusetts I am new here. I gained alot of weight for various reasons and I have zero support in my family and friends and I do not really know where to start. I have a lot to lose weight wise but I need someone who is going through this as well. I am 34 have two kids they are 14 and 11 been gaining weight steadily for 11 years now I am close to 300 lbs and very ready to be rid of it.

Welcome and good luck ! Do you have a food and exercise plan ? I find it best not to discuss my weight loss plans with others, only those who understand weight loss efforts such as you will find on these forums. When family or friends ask questions about what I am or not eating, I just say ,"that's all I feel like today" or some such answer to shut them up !

Yes... WELCOME and glad you are here too!

I know it may seem tough that you may not have the support of your family and friends BUT when you start your new journey, you will realize that with or without support, this is all YOU! But I certainly hope you aren't surrounded by others who may want to sabotage your efforts. :(

Once you develop a plan of attack and implement your new strategy you are going to be well on your way to being successful and that feeling cannot be replaced by anything!

As others have said, you can do this!

Take one permanent step this week towards doing something healthier in your life. Drink water. Or take a short walk. Or add in extra fruit and vegetables into a meal. Or write down what you eat (without starting to change what it is, yet). Something you know you can do the whole week. And then keep doing it!
