Cheers!

  • Hey everyone! Just introducing myself here... I'm alicia, 21, from Canada. I'm a student and I also work part-time as a caterer's assistant/server, which as you can imagine hasn't exactly been the most slimming of jobs. I have been a vegetarian all my life (I'm a steak virgin!) and I was fully vegan for about six years. When I got really busy with school and work, I found veganism too time-consuming to maintain, so I reverted back to vegetarianism and I now consume eggs, honey, and small amounts of dairy (yogurt, cheese). My eating strategy is all about consuming natural, local, ethical whole foods as much as possible, including full-fat foods in moderate amounts.

Unfortunately, during the past year I really got into stress-eating and I gained about 45 lbs. In February I weighed in at 155 lbs, and decided that I officially wanted to lose some weight, but I didn't have much time to focus on weight loss. Now that school is over for the summer, I have more time for exercise and have gotten down to 148 lbs. My goal weight is about 125 lbs, and I hope to achieve that weight by the fall, ideally by October 2011.

I look forward to chatting and sharing with everyone here! I hope that we can encourage and support each other as we become more healthy! Cheers!
