Hello there =D

Hi!

I found this forum through a family member and I've been lurking it for a while and finally decided to register!

I'm 22 and I have a bad habit of starting diets and going to the gym and then after a while stopping. I always seem to have a hard time keeping myself motivated. This time however I really want to follow through with losing the weight. So I figured I'd join this community and see where I go. In 2007 I was a size 9 to size 11 depending on the brand. Though I was extremely insecure. Growing up my long time best friend was always around 80-90 pounds and both my siblings were about the same. It didn't help that my father constantly told me I was fat and needed to go work out since the time I was 9 years old. So I had very poor self esteem and didn't feel that I was all that pretty.

I moved to Vegas after graduating from high school to move in with my boyfriend that I had met online. The relationship turned sour after about a year but I couldn't seem to let go or get out. I was extremely depressed and began to comfort eat. It didn't help that I had to do all the house work and cook while he did nothing all the time and after a while due to conflicting work schedules stopped cooking dinner. Thus we began eating fast food all the time. I finally got out of the relationship in 2009 but have since done nothing to get rid of the weight gain. So, now I sincerely would like to shed this weight and get to a healthy one. Not to mention feel better about myself again.

That aside, I look forward to making new friends and meeting all of you in this community :).

Welcome Metonymy, Glad to have you join us. My advice is to look for a Support group, Chat, or Challange to join; small groups make it easier to get connected. Most sub-forums have groups covering almost every need, find one that inspires or motivates you and just post to join.
