Newbie in New England!

  • Hi! I've been lurking around this site for a few weeks now and decided today is the day to join. No time like now, right? Well, I'm a 20 year old woman who's in college, working, and just starting out in the world. Last thing I need is all this extra weight to bring along! I've been dieting on and off since I was a ten year old, and have gone through times when I was just a little curvy to times when I was really big. I'm currently at the biggest I've ever been, and although it's not going to be easy, I want to lose 155 pounds. I've been lucky so far, not developing any health issues that so often go along with weight, and besides a thyroid problem that's well medicated, health wise I've been blessed. I can just start feeling the aching and discomfort of my weight now, and the fear that that brings of something worse, like diabetes or heart issues... that's a lot of my motivation.

So, just wanted to put myself out there and say hi to everyone, if anyone's going though the same stuff any advice would be great! I hope to make some great weight loss buddies along the way to the healthy, thin, "I can do anything!" girl I know is hiding somewhere in there!
  • Welcome Aurora, Glad to have you join us. My advice is to look for a Support group, Chat, or Challange to join; small groups make it easier to get connected. Most sub-forums have groups covering almost every need, find one that inspires or motivates you and just post to join.
  • Thanks Patchworkpenguin! BTW, I see the Warehouse 13 quote in your sig, I love that show! Artie is so fantastic, but claudia is my fav.
