Hello everyone! Im new and just wanted to introduce myself!

] Hi guys! My name is Monica and I am 25 years old. I ran across this site the other day and thought it was pretty neat. I have always had my ups and downs with my weight and lately i have definatly gained. I would say that my problem is over eating (and my addicton to sweets!) and also from not excersizing. I am so out of shape! Its sad. I am 6 feet tall and weigh about 210 right now. So i need to really lose the weight. I am starting to feel bad. I think this site will help motivate me! Im excited?

:wel3fc:I think you're going to love it here Monica! I know I do! Also, I just realized recently that I have a major sugar/carb addiction so I've cut it out of my diet (I avoid sugar, bread, potatoes, corn, rice, pasta, etc.) and it has really helped me so much. I also count calories. Sorry for the ramble! :welcome2:

Monica, Glad to have you join us. My advice is to look for a Support group, Chat, or Challange to join; small groups make it easier to get connected. Most sub-forums have one or more covering almost every need, find one that inspires or motivates you and just post to join.

Howdy Monica. I'm new to the forum too. I'm also 25 and live in Texas. I lost 40ish pounds a few years ago, and more or less kept it off but didn't quite make my goal. This forum is great, and will be wonderful motivation.

I'm tall too, it's a different ballgame to lose weight when you're taller because you do need a few more calories than most women, and it can be hard to look at your higher scale numbers and conceptualize that they are right for you. I have friends who are shorter than me who would be horrified at being 165 pounds, but for us that's skinny! :)

Let's go week one huh!

bleujean, hey girl! Yeah, its definatly a different ball game being tall. I love how people always say "your not overweight! Your tall, so you can pull it off!" haha. Well just because im tall and overweight doesnt mean i can "pull off" looking good in a bathing suit this summer! Lol. I went today and bought a journal to write down everything i eat. That should help! Day one here we go!

bleujean 01-30-2011 01:36 PM

LOL.

SO TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Paper journal huh? I use FitDay.com 'cause I'm lazy. How many calories are you aiming for per day?

oklahomachick26 01-30-2011 05:03 PM

honestly about 1200 right now. What about you? I just bought some "healthy" foods and im trying to walk everday. I took my horse with me yesterday and we walked around the pasture a few times.
